My Girl Scout troop (2nd graders in Texas) has chosen Malaysia as the country we will represent at our Friends Around the World event. Each troop puts together a display, recipe, song, activity to represent the life of the general citizens of the country, with emphasis on young girls.
Would someone mind terribly translating the phrase "make new friends" for us? We'll use this as part of our display.
Also, if anyone has a (very simple) childhood rhyme/hand game/song to recommend I'd appreciate it as well. Emphasis on 'simple' because we'd be leading a group of 150-200 girls in the activity/song.
Thanks in advance!

Jessica,
Hope it's not too late already. Works been piling up like mountains nowadays.
here is one children rhyme for you. It's called 'pantun', basically composed of 4 lines, the two upper one are just 'filler line' to prepare for the two last line which is the actual content of the poem and have to rhyme with the two upper lines. So you'll notice that Line 1 rhyme with line 3, and 2 with 4.
Pisang emas bawa berlayar, masak sebiji di atas peti, hutang emas boleh di bayar, hutang budi dibawa mati
roughly it means,
To bring the banana on a sea voyage - L1 the banana ripens on a chest - L2 The debt of gold can be paid - L3 but the debt of gratitude can only be bring to the grave - L4
basically, you can pay your material debt anytime but if you're in gratitude you'll take it with you all your life.
do tell me if this helps.
