There is a Finnish speech synthesizer at : www.mikropuhe.com/demo.asp How much does the pronunciation of Malay differ from the pronunciation of Finnish? Write the words "adik" and "abang" in the text field, then click on "Kuuntele puhe"! The synthesizer will pronounce these two words in the Finnish way. Are they still understandable to a Malay speaker?

Finnish language pronunciation is very similar to Malay. (for a finnish person its easy to read malay text, as it sounds the same, only J and Y are the main differences.)
couple example words that sound the same in malay and finnish: (malay - eng - fin)
sama - sama - same lampu - lamppu - lamp nanas - ananas - pineapple sibut - simpukka - shell ...
